It’s a long way from 1969 when Ferdie Dominelli
first took over an ailing Ford dealership in Hurstville
in September of that year, to re-build it into one of
the leading dealerships in the Ford stable. The on-going
success of this dealership has been the spring board
to the overall growth of the Dominelli Group of Companies.
Throughout his thirty seven years of success in the
business world, Ferdie Dominelli has never forgotten
his roots. As a boy, he assisted in his father’s
Liverpool market garden before and after school up until
his mid-teens. Ferdie learned a solid work ethic early
in life which has stayed with him since.
Because of these humble beginnings, he has always been
compassionate towards those less fortunate than himself.
Ferdie has been instrumental, over a long period of
time, in helping to raise many millions of dollars for
a huge variety of worthy causes. he is a recipient of
Rotary’s coveted Paul Harris Fellowship for his
outstanding achievements in fund raising for charity,
and his commitment to the community.
In may 2004, his business and community achievements
were acknowledged by his parents’ home country,
Italy, when the Italian Republic bestowed on him the
title of “Cavaliere”, the equivalent of
a British Knighthood.
Ferdie Dominelli is a man of many and varied successes
and with his son Adam, is looking to many more in the
future with their on-going vision for the Dominelli
Group and the community in general.

A “sense of style” has always been employed
throughout the Dominelli motor dealerships from staff
dress codes to showroom, vehicle presentation and service
workshops. This was highlighted by the introduction
of “The Ferdie Bird”, our company mascot
in 1974 to further emphasise the “Fussy Ferdie”
approach to business and create a point-of-difference
to other motor dealerships.
But it doesn’t stop there! The Dominelli “sense
of style” is also employed in the many other Group
business interests – high-rise property development
like Forest Ridge Apartments and the planned Georgia
luxury apartment complex, both in Hurstville, and their
latest motor vehicle acquisition, Rockdale Mazda.
The same “sense of style” can be observed
in the design and construction of “Cook”,
a 26 unit Commercial Industrial complex in Taren Point,
the latest in a schedule of Dominelli Group building
projects.
The Dominelli vision projects well into the future with
a variety of motor vehicle and property development
plans already on the drawing board.
